Building Safety &
Regulatory Support
ALU works with clients and their appointed consultants to coordinate construction information and evidence for façade remediation and building safety works. We connect site delivery with design information, inspections, change control and structured handover records.
Support matched to the project.
Our role is agreed around the building, proposed works and project appointments. For applicable projects in England, we support Building Safety Regulator submissions and coordinate technical responses within our scope. We do not guarantee approval or replace the responsibilities of the client, designers or building management dutyholders.
When the BSR process applies.
For design and building work in England, higher-risk buildings generally meet the threshold of at least 18 metres or seven storeys and contain at least two residential units, or are hospitals or care homes. Measurement rules and exclusions apply. Building work on an existing higher-risk building generally needs BSR approval before it starts, subject to exceptions and applicable transitional arrangements.

Construction Information For Submissions
We coordinate construction-related contributions with the appointed team, including proposed methods, sequencing, specifications and inspection arrangements.
We track queries and responses so information from site planning and specialist contractors can be incorporated into the relevant submission.

Design Information & Change Control
We track information used for construction and help coordinate the review of proposed changes.
For work subject to the BSR change-control regime, controlled changes are recorded and assessed: notifiable changes must be notified before the related work, and major changes require approval before the affected work proceeds.

Inspection Evidence & Digital Records
We organise location-referenced inspection records, photographs and relevant product information for the agreed works. These records contribute to the building’s golden thread: the digital information that relevant dutyholders maintain and use to support building safety.

Completion & Handover Support
We collate the agreed construction evidence and updated information for handover and, where applicable, the completion certificate application. This supports the client and consultants in assembling the required submission and transferring information to the relevant recipients.
